How to create tango in the 21st century? How to
create tango today without making it sound like an
archeological reconstruction of better days? Where
are the limits? How far does tango accept a fusion
with European avant-garde music? Should we create
tango or rather reflect on it? These are the questions
which the latest album by 34 Puñaladas, Bombay
Buenos Aires, intends to answer. Throughout four
albums and following the steps of Edmundo Rivero, 34 Puñaladas
(the name of the group was taken from Rivero’s verses) cultivated
the classic repertoire for singer and guitars. On this occasion and
with the same line-up, they bring along their own works, whose
lyrics and music at times border on philosophical reflection. The
line-up is Augusto Macri, Edgardo González and Juan Lorenzo
(guitars), Lucas Ferrara (guitarrón) and Alejandro Guyot (vocals).
