Karina Beorlegui

Karina Beorlegui became known in 2000 when she lent her voice to Alejandro Dolina’s operetta Lo que me Costó el Amor de Laura, after being selected in an audition. The press at the time was unanimous in its acclaim, placing her on a par with established artists such as Guillermo Fernández, Julia Zenko, Marián Farías Gómez and José Ángel Trelles. Very confident in her role as an actress, Karina has a singular, powerful voice that could be said to be a mixture of those of Tita Merello and Libertad Lamarque (an apparently impossible combination which is nevertheless proved possible here). In 2003, she released the album Caprichosa and toured around Europe with her own concerts. Due to her versatility, she has been summoned by tango companies which required a singer with theatrical skills. She is also a fervent interpreter of fado.
