Biography
Soledad Villamil's biography
Soledad Villamil’s intense artistic career began in film and theatre in the nineties, alongside the most prominent directors of the local scene. The success of the show Glorias Porteñas, in 1998, enabled her once and for all to integrate her hitherto hidden talent for singing into her work as an actress. From that moment onwards she began to develop her music career: in 2007 she recorded Canta, her first solo album, winner of the Gardel award. Soledad is now presenting her latest album, Morir de Amor, featuring works by Luis César Amadori, Charlo (Rencor), Azucena Maizani (Pero Yo Sé), Homero Manzi (Ninguna), Francisco Canaro (Se Dice De Mí) and Miguel Caló (Qué Te Importa Que Te Llore), plus some songs of her own. Musical arrangements were done by José Teixidó, the director of the quartet that will be accompanying her in her appearance.
