Biography
Orquesta de Tango de la Ciudad de Bs. As. - Susana Rinaldi's biography
The link between Susana Rinaldi‘s singing and Cátulo Castillo’s poetry bears a long history. The poet wrote a very special welcome verse for the cover of one of the singer’s first albums, and she chose him as one of her favourite tango poets. In November 1973, she set about working on her album A Cátulo Castillo (To Cátulo Castillo), with direction and arrangements by Osvaldo Piro and Juan Carlos Cuacci, featuring a dozen of his works and an affectionate acknowledgement, two years before the death of the poet.
The concert offered by the Festival revives the close artistic bond between Castillo and Rinaldi. Bearing the same title as the album, the show will feature a repertoire of Castillo’s classics: El Último Café, Tinta Roja, Una Canción, Silbando, Desencuentro and Mensaje. Susana Rinaldi will be accompanied by the Orquesta del Tango de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires under the direction of Juan Carlos Cuacci.
